Seeing things accurately
The root of the correction process is to show the dyslexic person how to switch off these distortions. It is a simple process which is usually easier to do than to explain.
This means that, perhaps for the first time, the dyslexic person can accurately see a page of text in front of them. It is completely different in this respect from all other correction processes. Without this basic tool other processes may certainly make progress, but they can only be of limited value.
Taking control of your own learning
This tool means that the dyslexic person can take control of their own learning. At times (for example, when they want to read) they may choose to switch off their perceptual talent in order to switch off the distortions.
They by no means lose the talent - on the contrary, they now have both the talent and the conscious control of it.
